I work in a small home town restaurant that has been telling their employees that they have a security camera. to monitor the help and customers. my question is, don't they have to post somewhere in the building that it is being monitored, also they say the cameras are hidden. Is that ethical?

I have five smoke alarms in my house connected to my power and they also each have 8 volt battery backup. Randomly all my smoke alarms will go off for about 5 seconds. Sometimes it happens several times a day and some times it will take a couple of weeks before it does it again.

I did clean as much dust as I could from the housing and I change the batteries about once a year. The smoke alarms do go off when we accidently burn something in the oven, which means they work.

Any Ideas on why they go off when there is no smoke? It is getting quite annoying, especially when they go off like 5 times a day.

Whenever i start up my computer, all internet connections are offline. I can't open a webpage, limewire has red bars (Showing no connection). When i shut off zone alarm, everything becomes normal. How do i make it so it allows internet access w/o having to shut it down all the time, rending my protection useless.
(and no, i didn't 'lock' down internet using the feature.

I'm using Verizon's Internet Security Suite which contains anti virus and anti spyware along with a firewall. I wish to set the system for scheduled scanning. I'm using Windows xp.

1) How often should I scan for viruses and spyware?
2) A scheduled scan won't take place if my pc is off.
3) Will it run if the pc is in hybernation mode?
4) Any drawbacks to leaving my pc in hybernation mode when I'm not using it instead of closing down all pc stuff
4) If yes to question #3 ~ what are the drawbacks?
