I need a cost effective burglar alarm system. I rent so I need something I can take with me when I leave. Do I need a monitoring service? Can you have a wireless system with no phone line? Is it better to buy a DIY system online and then purchase monitoring separately?

I have a few questions about them. A guy came by yesterday telling me that they would install door and window sensors and all the equipment and installation are free and all we do is pay 39.99/ month for a 3 yr contract. Sounds too good to be true, so has anyone else encountered this and had luck? I’m skeptical that there may be some kind of hidden charges or something, i’m no attorney and reading a contract is not in my expertise, ya know? Please anyone with any experience with them, are they good and reliable?

How do I connect a security camera to my home computer so that I may be able to survilience my home from my computer at work? and what material will i need. I don’t need nothing sassy just a plain swann do-it-yourself color security camera is what i am using.

i want to put an alarm on my car but its expensive to have it installed could i order one off of the internet and put it in my self for cheeper i have no power locks or windows so that shouldnt be a problem just want the motion sensor

We are in a rental home which had central heat and air installed this past summer. This is the first time we have turned on the heat and the smoke alarms keep going off. Is this something to worry about or is this normal? (I know it sounds like a really stupid question, but I grew up in the Tropics, so I don’t know how the heating works!)

Our house has been broken into twice and attempted once in the last 6 months. Time to get an alarm system.

But, we have two problems…
1. We are near broke.
2. We have no home phone line.

Does anyone know a company that will do free installation of a system with a low monitoring fee? (like -15 / month) and any phone services that will provide a minimal landline near the same price?

No one was home when the house was broken into - and it seems to happen in the daytime (as we are there at night). One day the basement (Outdoor entrance) lock was messed up and it looked like someone tried to get in. Another time the upstairs window (which was cracked in middle of summer) was open and screen was removed. Cat was outside and everything was rummaged through. And again yesterday, cracked storm window and opened only window on 1st floor with no lock. Rummaged through everything - took two inexpensive drills - and left back door open. Footprints in snow show that they looked around our pole barn but nothing really was gone.

DVD players, Playstation II, over 100 DVDs etc. were all left.

No money or jewelry kept there.

And we will be getting a dog in the spring.

Ok, so I have this situation with my car alarm. Well the alarm is controlled by my keypad and when I turn the power locks on, the alarm is off, and when I turn the powerlocks off, the alarm is back on again. What happens if I want to be inside the car with all the powerlocks off so no one can get inside…like imagine this. If you were stranded somewhere and you are all alone and you want to be inside your car with the powerlocks off obviously, how do you prevent your alarm from going off when you are inside the car with the powerlocks off?

Me any problems? My neighbors are mostly old people, not the criminal type.

i want to start up faster do you think i can be safe if i delete zone alarm from start up and use it when i want to after start up?

I am innocent and a business surveillance video can prove it. How do I get a subpoena to prove it. I do not have an attorney nor can I afford one right now.

I called brinks help line. They told me to unplug and plug back rj-11(phone line going to the security). I did that but it wasn’t a fix. I have a contract with them. Brinks help line guy said it will cost me 50 dollars first 30 minutes and 20 dollars for every additional 15 minutes for a tech to see it. I think it is a rip off. and tech can stay here for hours.??? I said, it is your equipment, why don’t you cover it? And response was you didn’t pick the extended service plan which costs 5 dollars a month.

I would appreciate any help to fix this problem.

theres been a car alarm going off all night.Not the first time either….it happens a lot where i live and they go on for hours and hours (dont know if its the same car)

I use symantec corporate edition and i want to install zone alarm internet security…..my question is, if i install zone alarm, my computer maybe crash or not?because in symantec corporate,not have firewall security, im security, spam security,etc.Or any alternative program another zone alarm?

I want to be able to make a system that when my digital clock alarms it will pour water on my face so I can wake up!

I drive a 98 camaro and for some reason the car alarm keeps going off and i don’t know why and today the car wouldnt start and after the 3rd time of trying to start it the alarm started going off it wouldnt stop even when i hit the car alarm button. after about 20 mins of it going off it stoped and the car started i thought everything was fine until i got home today it keeps beeing and making weird noise and i’m a chick i don’t know anything about this damn car so if anyone could help that would be great.

I was exercising using a cardio DVD. The last two times I used it the smoke alarm went off. After the first time we changed the batteries, today it happened a second time. There clearly isn’t smoke, the walls by the detector are very cold. Is it a faulty detector, or should I just work out somewhere else.

I just found some spyware on my computer by the name of malware Alarm and I want to get rid of it. I don’t really know how however. I got an idea or two but I need to know does Zone Alarm protect you or get rid of spyware?

I am a small female student who lives alone. I am terrified to go to sleep at night. I decided to contact ADT and have them come look at my home to set up a security system. They quoted me ,245 install plus /month. I can’t afford this! I am researching security systems and see you can purchase them much cheaper, however I don’t know what to look for.

This is what I need:
20 wireless door/window sensors
1 window protector (non sliding/opening)
3 motion sensors
1 control panel
1 remote key

The house I live in has a lot of windows, I’m looking to protect all of the windows during the day, however activate the motion sensors at night as well- as the window protectors only work if the door is being slid open!

I would really appreciate all advice. I can afford the monthly fee however the start up cost is not affordable for me.

I am also wanting it to connect to a home security carrier (ie ADT) for police monitoring. We have had break ins in my neighborhood and I want to be sure if something should happen it goes to the police!

I have read reviews that say computers with less than 2GB of RAM run significantly slower with Zone Alarm Security Suite 7.

Me and my friend were arguing over whether or not the small security cam across Books a Million could see him flicking it off. It was all the way across the store,prob over 100 ft, but I know those things have serious zoom on them.
