Just purchased a home and am interested in installing a home security system. Since there are so many companies out there, I was looking for other’s personal experiences with home security companies. Good and bad? Also something that won’t break the bank!! Thanks everyone!

What do I need for a basic home security system.

I don’t want anything elaborate as I live in a "safe" area.

I want something like a remote operated button that my elderly mom can push in an event someone breaks in. A loud alarm that will go off both inside and outside to "scare" any robbers and alert her neighbors.

Thank you my family has been a victim of a robbery when we were not home during the day . We are allready getting a dog and now we need the security. I dont want a system that someone else monitors if its monitored I want to be the one that is notified of a intrusion not a home security company.Any info on this would be great .

I just bought a house in a “bad” neighborhood and would like to know ways to prevent “bad” things from happening. Any home security system worth getting to prevent such issue? What if the thief succeeded in obtaining what they strive to obtain, am i insurred under the security system company? any opinion and suggestion?

Our new house has a preinstalled Brinks home system. After searching reviews, it appears they are a hit/miss in terms of customer complaints and complements. Does anyone have any honest opinions and stories about who is a better home security system provider. Thanks.

I recently switched from traditional landline phone to Vonage cable internet phone. However, my home security system can not communicate with the monitoring station as a result of disconnecting the phone line. How could I rewire my home phone wires to make my home security system work with the internet phone?

I recently installed a wireless home security systems (ADT), and now I am noticing a clicking emanating from my home theater system. I am wondering if it is caused by the new security, and if so, how can I fix it?

A bit of detail on the clicking: it is similar to, but not the same as, the phone interference caused by certain (GSM) phones.

Which line would this be entered on? Seems like most tax softwares do not ask this questions in the interview

What is your opinion of a low cost, foolproof, self propelled home security system that can take offensive action when need be?

Would be grateful if any yahooers could say what they think a system should have and what these costs would be? Of course, the money is secondary to proper to protection, so if could suggest what system should have it will much appreicated.

I work for an authorized ADT dealership as a sales representative. I do this as it is flexible and I have lupus and a son with autism and had to leave my career in corporate sales. Does anyone have any ideas for me to help build my business and get customers interested? What type of marketing might help me. I can only sell in my local area which is about a 45 minute radius of Memphis. I offer a good product, I have the best price for ADT equipment and offer their monitoring. I am also very customer service oriented and bend over backwards to help my customer even after the sale. I just need ideas to increase my business. Door to door knocking has not been successful. I am currently working with flyers also but have not had much results with that. Also, I have even been telemarketing. I am more than willing to accept suggestions from anyone. I really want to make a decent living for my family and my son as its expensive having an autistic child and my own medical bills. I
Oro, I know you are kidding but there are actually some shady security dealers that have done things like that to cause scare tactics in communities. Its sad but true.

I want to buy one that turns on the lights and makes a loud reaction and calls the police when an intruder breaks in.
My partner found one that charges you .00 a month to call the police.
I know that there has to be one that calls them for free.
