Me and my friend were arguing over whether or not the small security cam across Books a Million could see him flicking it off. It was all the way across the store,prob over 100 ft, but I know those things have serious zoom on them.

I have two dogs that stay in the backyard while i’m at work. I was wondering if there are security cameras that i could set up in the backyard and watch online. Are there any with sound too? I just want to be able to check up on them periodically through out the day make sure they are ok and not barking up a storm and not have to go home. Any suggestions?

I would like to install security cameras in my house, since I’m going to be away for a while, and I want to be able to long in. I’ve actually found a good piece of hardware that lets me control lights, heat, everything remotely.

My question really is about what kinds of good quality security cameras are available / what people recommend - their price and resolution. I know a webcam is feasable, but I want much higher quality than that; if I can zoom in, that would be awesome. I know these things do exist, and I’ve tried looking online, I just can’t seem to find what I’m looking for, and I don’t have a base of comparison.

OK so I bought a wireless surveillance system with 4 cameras. i also have a wireless router laying around (D-Link). What do I need to do to pick up the camera signals on my wireless router so I can view them on the computer?

Like there was this armed robber at a local Petrol station and the play back of the camera is in low quality and it runs at 2-3fps per second? Like come on, even my webcam has better quality than that and plays 30fps. Not just petrol stations but some shopping malls, their playback is laggy.

I have stolen from Target and Walmart which both have security cameras. I have never been caught but I was just wondering do they have people sitting there watching people on camera or do they just record and watch later? If they do watch them live how come I have never gotten caught?

Those security cameras in grocery stores, are they fake? My friend says so.

I have a TV card with a couple RCA hookups, and have a couple security cameras hooked up to it. Is there software i can get to help monitor these cameras such as motion detection software?

Please elaborate the difference, the advantages, disadvantages and the trends when it comes to the difference on security cameras that have their own IP address and hooks up directly to the internet or the traditional ones that is hooked up to the PC with a special chip/board that directs images from multiple cameras into the internet? How accurate are the security cameras in a casino? I am only 20 and i work at a restaurant that’s inside the casino. I played two hands of blackjack when i was leaving work. I know that if you work in a casino you are not supposed to gamble and i know you have to be 21. But, i only won a small amount of money and was not there long and no one said anything to me. Do you think they will go back and find the tape to show to my managers? Would they even bother will something like this?

I’ve been given the task of finding a good Wireless Security-style webcam that can be sent through a standard wireless router without requiring a server computer at all. Does anyone know of any that can do this?
I’m not really sure what the plans are for these cameras, just that they have to be able to work decently with only a wireless router.
