I need to know if I need a license to install cctv video surveillance and recording system in a commercial property in Louisiana. I have sent a few emails out to the state but have not received a reply yet.

My home has recently been broken into twice in the last 2 weeks but nothing was taken. The first time it happened the only reason I knew was because my dog was outside and the 2nd time it happened while I was acually at home. My one vehicle is broke down and sitting at work and so I’m sure that who ever it was thought I was gone because my car was not there. The thing of it is I think it’s acually my neighbor because other people have said that they have caught her in their house. I want to try and video tape her (assuming it’s her) but need some advice on an inexpensive way to do it. Who ever it is comes through the patio door and all I need to do is put a marble in the door so that if the door is opened the marble will be moved and I know someones been in my house. I initially looked at buying some type of motion activated camera but can not afford that - Please does anyone have any ideas on how I can catch this person

Back when I used to work at a Burger King in the Bronx, New York, a fight occurred between two customers and two managers. If I wasn’t in such shock, I would’ve recorded the fight myself. Luckily we had the surveillance cameras in the lobby, and it was a pretty nice fight. I was wondering, since I WAS a witness, is there someway I can grab hold of a copy of the video? There’s nothing wrong with a good ol’ laugh, I say. Please help if you can.

I had a dinner party at PF Changs and realized I didnt have my wristlet (wallet/purse) with me when I went in my car. I went in immediately to look for it and also asked the staff if they saw anything; we found nothing. I later asked about the video surveillance, the supervisor said she could not make out anything from the video and she had to ask her manager if I am allowed to look at it. I am afraid one of the waiters grabbed it when they saw our party leaving.

I’ve been reading the "Rain" series of contemporary fiction novels, and Rain (an assassin) has a detector he keeps in his pocket that "detects" some kind of wave length (side-band? or similar I think it was called) that video camera’s produce. The detector also detects audio surveillance. The author never differentiates between wireless and hard-wired devices, this little thing picks up everything within about 10 meters or so if I recall correctly.

I’m just wondering if that is actually possible or if it is literary license. If it is possible, how?

I have a friend who works at a small bar. And it has been said that not only is the bar under video surveillance but the owner is going to install several cameras with audio also. Is this legal? I feel as if it is ease dropping on peoples private conversations. Is there anything that can be done about this? I totally agree with the video but audio I think is a invasion of privacy.

About a month ago I lost my Visa Check Card at Wal Mart.Someone found it immediately and used it to purchase 2.00 worth of merchandise.I was told to file a police report and the police would go to Wal Mart,look at the video surveillance,then give me a copy of the police report.Then I take the police report to my bank showing I did not make the purchases,and the money would then be added back to my account.But someone told me that Wal Mart only keeps video surveillance for a week.Does anyone have any information on this?I want my money added back to my card.Is there anyway they can catch the person who did this?I would appreciate any information.

I am innocent and a business surveillance video can prove it. How do I get a subpoena to prove it. I do not have an attorney nor can I afford one right now.

We have some bored kids in our neighborhood who are driving through yards, spray painting fences and throwing out their beer bottles and drug paraphernalia on the street (broken glass everywhere). No one has caught them because it happens in the wee hours of the morning. We’d like to mount some sort of surveillance on our house facing the street. I used an ATM at the San Mateo Medical Center in San Mateo, CA, to withdraw money from my out of country checking account, and now I’m in the middle of a legal process and i need evidence that i was there that date at that time, i have my receipt, but thats not enough because the account is not from a USA bank, is there any way i can get a copy of the video surveillance?, do i need to hire an attorney to get this? thanks for your help.
ok here is the deal, i came to the USA in october 2000, i was 15 at that time, i came because my dad had terminal cancer, i was waiting in mexico to get my visa but i couldnt wait no more my dad was going to die, so i came illegally, and for the 7 years that i been in this country i have never been in trouble with the law so my record is clean, now i need evidence that i was here before decenber 21 of 2000 and the only thing that i have is an ATM receipt, because i didnt attend to school the first year i was here, so i need the video to prove that i was there, my dad passed away in may 2003.

I was exiting a parking garage on campus when the automated gate fell on top of my new Toyota corolla. When I got home I found that the roof was scratched up bad. I called the campus security office and when I told them what happened they told me that because I didn’t file a police report right then the parking garage couldn’t be held liable. When I asked if the video surveillance cameras could be use to prove the fact they told me "they’re not big on that" what rights do I have here?
