The started by just beeping every couple of minutes. Then, one will beep 3 times, and the rest will each beep 3 time in "response". When I say beep, I mean like sirens are going off. Then they move on to chirping during which you wish you didn’t have ear drums.. I’ve replaced all of the batteries (twice) and it is still doing it. I have tried resetting each of them and that doesn’t work. I’m ready to rip them out of the ceilings. How can I get them to stop?

I have a "safewatch plus" home alarm system by ADT. I do not have it monitored, but it functions properly. I have been able to turn the "chimes" off that sound when opening a door, but it makes a loud BEEP when you enter each code numeral into the panel and wakes my baby boy. Is there any way I can turn the BEEP down or off without paying 5 per hr. for a tech to come to my house and do it?

Would it be easy to relocate panel to another wall if your "handy?"

there is no cooking going on or any form of smoke in the house, but the smoke detectors beep randomly. Most of the time one or two short beeps.

They are electrically operated, not battery.

I have many smoke alarms around my house and they beep very often and its very very annoying. I have tried changing the battery but that didn’t work.

The home is new construction built in 2006. The smoke alarms are electric with a battery backup. I expect the bulbs caused some sort of power changes that caused the alarms to beep. The things didn't beep before the bulbs, continued to beep after I replaced all the batteries in the alarms, continued after I reset the alarms, and stopped beeping after I replaced the compact florescents with incandescent bulbs. Very odd.
