I have a laptop running Windows XP for home use and IE8. When I research the internet, there are so many different opinions about the best internet security suite to install. What is the best for what I have and will Norton just uninstall after April 15th?

I am using zone alarm 7.0 messenger 8 and microsoft life cam..
the message I get is Sorry you appear to be behind a firewall and are currently unable to use the yahoo webcam service…
any ideas greatly appreciated as i have added these programs to every area of zone alarm I can think of…
okay I also have earthlink internet connection could there be a firewall hiding in that blocking me….
How do I find what firewalls are blocking the windows xp firewall is turned off
zone alarm is turned off and it still says there is a firewall?

I have a problem with my norton internet security and other security programs. They just don’t work on windows xp 64bit. Is there any programs out there that work on 64bit or something i can do to make it work. Thanks.

I am trying to run a program, unsuccessfully, and when I go to "support" for that software, they say I need to reset some "Zone Alarms" on my PC. Where are these Zone Alarms and how do I get to them. Please, if you do not have an authoritative answer don’t respond to this. Thanks in advance. The program is Portrait Professional and I am running Windows XP.

I'm using Verizon's Internet Security Suite which contains anti virus and anti spyware along with a firewall. I wish to set the system for scheduled scanning. I'm using Windows xp.

1) How often should I scan for viruses and spyware?
2) A scheduled scan won't take place if my pc is off.
3) Will it run if the pc is in hybernation mode?
4) Any drawbacks to leaving my pc in hybernation mode when I'm not using it instead of closing down all pc stuff
4) If yes to question #3 ~ what are the drawbacks?
