The house I moved into is already wired with a security system, do I have to go through ADT to use it?
I moved into a new home that has an existing security system. It was wired by ADT, but since it’s already installed I was wondering if I have to use them to monitor my security system or can I go with someone else without having to replace my equipment?

Most of those systems can be reprogrammed by the technician that comes out to inspect the system and replace any non-working components. For instance, when I bought my present home it had security system that was serviced by AT&T. We selected another provider and they took care of everything. No problems.
Yes, the system can be monitored by the provider that you choose. There will need to be some programming changes made to the control panel.
